Put Your Head on My Shoulder (致我们暖暖的小时光) - Chapter 19

The first worst part of the Fu Pei-Wang Shan couple started. Wang Shan is such a... foolish girl. She's better in the drama but in the novel she's just annoying. But I don't dislike her, because Wang Shan will redeem herself in the later chapter. Let's just say that being dramatic is part of Wang Shan

Ak also showed that he might be a bad friend for Mo, as he knew nothing and always assume the best of his friend. You can find out in this chapter why I said this. Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 19
Mo almost knew Gu Weiyi’s temperament by now - crude mouth, bad mood, like to be clean, liked to read alongside, seriously exaggerated when reading, who belonged to the kind of people that couldn’t hear the sound of wind and rain.

Mo remembered that Ak had said before that Gu Weiyi was easy to get along with, but his thoughts was difficult to understand. However, Mo didn’t have such a feeling. Maybe all his words to her were bad. Instead, it made her feel that he was an excellent and very real person, thinking like this made her thought that as if she had been humiliated in her bones.

Mo was a very sensitive child. This kind of sensitivity was not to have tears when seeing the sunset. It is - how should she put it, there is a foreign saying, called ‘middlechild’, which referred to the children in the middle of the family, who would be loved by nobody compared with the elder and the least. That is, the forgotten children. Mo had an elder brother and a younger brother, with her compliance when she was young, the adults needn’t worry too much about her, so Mo was always neglected. Such a child had to find out a set of survival rules by herself. Mo’s survival rule was that her radars were very sensitive. She could detect who had been good to her and who hadn’t in a very short time. As long as someone was confirmed by her as being good to her, she would treat that person with her heart and soul, until hitting a wall. She had treat Xu Jier and Fu Pei like that, the same to Meng Lu and Hu Niu in the dormitory. Of course, there were something wrong with the first two radars. Now her radar squeaked again, and she really wanted to kill it.

Gu Weiyi didn’t like living with other people. He couldn’t stand being quarreled with, so he spent four years in college making ends meet. Even his mother had said, whoever married him in the future would be unlucky, he’s all like his dad in the eccentric temper. He also knew that he had a bad temper, so he always tried to keep a good distance from others. Over time, he gave everyone an elusive impression. So he didn’t have many close friends, at most Fu Pei and Ak. However, he was not depressed because of this. He had been used to it for a long time. He was brought up by a nanny. When he was young, his parents were busy with their work and had no time to accompany him. Sometimes they couldn’t meet for ten days or even half a month. His toys were getting increasingly sophisticated, with more and more professional servants at home as well. The house had been changing all the time, getting bigger and more luxurious. So in his childhood, he had many toys while few playmates.

At that time, there were unexpected happenings that he promised to let Situ Mo live in. With her in, the house seemed to be more than just a shelter from the wind and rain. For him, Situ Mo should be the atmosphere in legendary that fit very well. He felt that her presence at home was particularly natural, as if they had been staying together like this all the time.

On the second day of holiday, Mo woke up early in the morning. The biological clock was a real killer. She stayed in bed for more than an hour and didn’t get up to change her clothes until the noisy conversation outside made her really unbearable. She looked in the mirror before leaving the door. The licorice tablets were really effective. The wine rash, which usually need two or three days to disappear, had disappeared in one day.

Ak was in a stiff suit, talking to Gu Weiyi with extravagant gestures. It was funny at first glance, like Chaplin without a beard.

‘Hi.’ Ak saw Mo came out.

Mo nodded and said, ‘Why are you wearing like this? Marriage?’

Ak pulled his clothes with a little embarrassment. ‘I just finished my interview.’

Mo looked up at the wall clock and said, ‘It's early.’

‘Situ Mo.’ Gu Weiyi suddenly interrupted, ‘Go wash your face and brush your teeth, and then go out for breakfast with me.’

‘Oh, good.’ Mo turned around and walked to the bathroom.

Ak's eyes wandered back and forth between them, trying to say something, but finally endured it.

The breakfast was not very enjoyable. It was mainly because Ak suddenly mentioned Fu Pei, making Gu Weiyi and Situ Mo who were scramble for the last dumpling stagnated. And the atmosphere dropped to freezing point.

Ak said, ‘Mo, Fu Pei is going to be crazy. If you don't contact him, he won't dare to contact you. He doesn't even have the mind to find a job now.’

He said, ‘Mo, tell him what you have to say. It's not the way to go on like this.’

He also said, ‘Mo, Fu Pei really likes you. We were tired of hearing him talk about you for four years in college. Right, Weiyi?

Mo looked at Gu Weiyi, he grabbed the last dumpling expressionlessly and nodded dully. Mo didn’t know what to say. Suddenly, the grievances hit her heart, like a sweater that never dries in the rainy day, being wet and moldy.

After breakfast, when the three went back, Ak's phone rang. He smiled after answering the phone, ‘I’m going to invite you to sing tonight. The company I interviewed told me to practice.’

‘So quickly? The morning interview was just notified in the afternoon?' Gu Weiyi asked.

‘Not the one in the morning, but another one two days ago.’ Ak spoke while dialing the phone. ‘I'll call Big Fat and others to come over and play together in the evening.’ Mo and Gu Weiyi were silent.

After hanging up, Ak said, ‘Mo, Fu Pei will come too. Would you mind?’

I won’t mind your dead bones.

Mo lowered her face and said, ‘I’ll be busy at night. You just go and play.’

It was unknown whether Ak was silly or pretending to be silly. He said, ‘What would you be busy with? You just don't want to see Fu Pei, do you?’

Mo could was interrupted by the ringtone of her phone before he could say anything. She took out her phone from her pocket, it was Hu Niu: ‘Hu Niu, what's wrong?’

‘Mo...’ Hu Niu’s panic cry came from the opposite side of the phone.

Mo was shocked and quickly consoled her, ‘Don't cry, don't cry, tell me what happened?’

‘Wang Shan... Wang Shan... She... cut the veins... It bled a lot. Hu Niu’s voice was intermittent with her crying voice.

Mo felt a little weak on her feet, grabbed Gu Weiyi's arm before she stood firm. ‘Has she been sent to the hospital yet?’

‘Yes.’

‘Which hospital?’

‘People's Hospital.’

‘I'll be right over.’ Mo hung up the phone and tried to run, but Gu Weiyi pulled her: ‘Calm down, what happened? Where are you going?’

Mo settled down and said, ‘Wang Shan has cut her veins. Now she is in the hospital.’

‘I'll go with you.’ Gu Weiyi said and turned back to Ak, ‘Call Fu Pei and let him go to People's Hospital immediately.’

They rushed to the hospital and saw Hu Niu and Meng Lu sitting on the bench outside the operating room, clasping each other's hands, both with a frightened face.

Mo stepped forward quickly and asked, ‘How is Wang Shan?’

Hu Niu rushed up and hugged her, trembling, ‘Mo... I'm scared to death... When I came back, Wang Shan was lying in bed. I walked forward to ask her if she wanted something to eat. The bed was full of blood.

Mo patted her on the back and asked Meng Lu, ‘How is she?’

Meng Lu was still suffering from the shock and said, ‘Haven’t known yet.’

Mo waved to her, and then she came back to her, hugged them and cried, ‘I was so scared............................................... It's blood everywhere, even the lower bunk...

Gu Weiyi leaned against the wall and looked at the three girls crying together in front of him. It seemed that he had returned to the summer vacation when he graduated from high school. It was also such a long corridor, the closed door of the operating room, the strong smell of antiseptic solution, and... the same kind of cry. For a long time, it was entangled in his dream.

He couldn’t stand people who didn’t value their lives, and what’s worse, people who tried to use suicide as a threat weapon.

The lights in the operating room finally went out. First, a nurse came out. They rushed up and asked, ‘Miss Nurse, how is our friend?’

‘The patient's condition is stable at present, but she is still in coma after losing too much blood.’ The nurse was used to the scene and very calm. ‘You can ask the doctor for the details when he comes out.’

The doctor then came out and explained to them, ‘The patient's bleeding has stopped, the wound has been stitched up, and the blood has been transfused to her. She would wake up in about two or three hours. The patient who commits suicide will wake up a little unstable. Please try not to stimulate her.

Two nurses pushed Wang Shan's bed out. Wang Shan's pale face and purple lips made their hearts beat quickly.

Gu Weiyi went out to buy them drinks. On his way back, he happened to meet Fu Pei who came in a hurry. Fu Pei, with a panic on his face, grabbed him and asked about Wang Shan. When he heard that it was all right, he was relieved and collapsed on the bench beside him.

‘Weiyi, what should I do?’ Fu Pei looked at Gu Weiyi in perplexity, without a deep hatred like before.

Gu Weiyi handed him a bottle of water and sat down on the bench.

Fu Pei held the bottle of water tightly in his hand and said to himself, ‘I know I love to play and unreliable, but I never thought about hurting anybody. I really never thought about hurting either Mo or Wang Shan.’

Gu Weiyi patted him on the shoulder: ‘Don't think so much about it this moment. Go to see her.’

Fu Pei didn't seem to hear his words, ‘I didn’t know Wang Shan had cared so much. When we were together, I told her that I wasn't person who would treat emotions seriouly. She laughed and said that she played more than I did in the world. Then she drank a lot with me, and began to take off her clothes...’

‘Fu Pei.’ Gu Weiyi interrupted him. ‘It’s useless to say anything. You should go to see her first and then think about how to solve it.’

Fu Pei took a deep breath, got up and went to the ward.

  1. Owww,you're right.
The Wang Shan in the drama was way better than in the novel.

I am excited to see how will Wang Shan redeem herself,as you said.

    Thank you for the chapter!

  2. This side of gu wei yi is more relatable than in the drama. Also, him asking si tu mo to wash her face first feels like they're very much comfortable now with each other.

  3. As much as I hate Fu Pei, if Wang Shan use her life to threaten him, no amount of redemption can save her.

I don't hate suicide people, it takes lot of courage to do it. But I hate it if they use it as a way to get other's attention or get what they want.

You were told numerous times how many red flag dude has, even the guy said so yet you think your God's favorite and ignored all the warnings.

I honestly don't like their attitude towards Fu Pei as if it's his fault. It feels like a random dude got public shame just because he didn't agree to the dying patient's wish that would heavily impact him.

Besides what happened to no stimulation 😂
