Chapter 25
Mo regretted as soon as she came back to her room. Anyhow, he had made a big meal for her. Although his face looked bad, there was no need to take it seriously. Besides, they didn’t have much time to get along in this way. What’s more, it's just the first day of communication, and it's really unlucky to make a scene. She hesitated to walk out of the door, leaning against the kitchen door to watch him tidy up the dishes and chopsticks. It was a bit of posture, especially his apron, which was pink, beautiful and harmonious.

Gu Weiyi was a person who would be very attentive to everything, even washing dishes. When he finished, he would took the bowl to his eyes to see if it had been cleaned. Mo saw such a tall man lean over to wash the dishes, her temper disappeared at once. She walked to him lightly, wrapped his waist from behind, and put her face on his back.

Gu Weiyi’s hand that was washing the dishes stopped, and his head slightly tilted to see the people behind him. She was so obedient. His temper disappeared, wiped his hands and turned back to embrace her. The little one was so soft, embedded in his arms, so naturally.

‘Situ Mo.’

‘Yes?’

‘Don't you feel dirty with your face resting on the apron?’ He asked, rubbing her head.

Mo raised her head and said, ‘Gu Weiyi, I was crazy to have held you.’ She said while leaving. Gu Weiyi quickly pulled her back, ‘ Don't go. What's the matter with being dirty? Just wash your face then.’

Thus, the first vigorous cold war lasted less than 20 minutes, and it was a pity that it came to an abrupt end just after Mo’s fruitless compromise. But she thought, she didn’t have much time to get along well with him, and then they'll be across the Pacific Ocean. So just get along well with him, breaking a day into two days. Of course, such a mood was set in the context that Gu Weiyi would go to MIT. She did not want to ask him, dare not ask and needn’t ask. After all, in Mo’s mind, he would definitely go to the United States and of course she could understand. If it was she who had to go, she would go as well. The person who didn’t want to go would be a fool. He was not a fool, he was a genius.

Mo found that the quickest way to warm up their feelings was the physical contact. Although it sounded a little impure, since she offered Gu Weiyi a heart-grabbing hug from behind, their feelings had a qualitative leap, at least they were no longer embarrassed. This is mainly due to the fact that Gu Weiyi’s was no longer sullen. He would occasionally came in to harass her when he passed by her room. He would tease her or rub her hair. But most of the time, he just held a book in his arms and entered her room without asking a word. He leaned on her bed to turn over the book, chatted up when he had something to say, and just read quietly when there were no words. Sometimes he would suddenly reach over to cover her hand which was clicking the mouse, laughing at the fact that her hand was too small and out of proportion.

Mo still felt a little sorry, as if the two had not been in love before the love became natural. But on second thought, it would be good to go on like this.

Life was so harmonious that she forgot the Fu Pei until one day when she came home, she was blocked by Fu Pei at the stairway entrance.

Haven’t seen each other for many days, he had lost a lot of weight, with dark circles under his eyes. He had been looking at her with hot eyes since he stopped her.

Mo squeezed out a smile: ‘How is Wang Shan?’ I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to see her.’

Fu Pei's face was gloomy. ‘Did you read the letter I wrote to you?’

Mo recalled that she did not know how many letters she had received over these days. She had contributed all the letters to the garbage industry of her motherland except the first one. She did not want to lie and was afraid that he would confront her later. So she said carefully, ‘I read part of them.’

Fortunately, Fu Pei did not ask her which parts she had read, but only asked, ‘What’s your idea?’

Although Mo did not read the letters, she still knew what he was asking according to normal logical reasoning. She answered calmly, ‘We’re impossible. If you don't mind, we are still friends. If you do, no friends any more.’

Fu Pei's surprisingly calm: ‘Are you be together with Gu Weiyi?’

Mo hesitated and nodded, ‘Yes.’

Fu Pei sneered. ‘Did you know he had successfully applied for MIT?’

‘Yes.’

Fu Pei nodded: ‘Well, Situ Mo, now that you can still love a person at all costs. It seems that I did not hurt you much.’

Having known each other for so many years, when Fu Pei called her back to Situ Mo. Mo felt a little sad. She didn't know how to answer him for a moment.

Fu Pei saw her dull appearance, stretched out his hand trying to rub her head, she subconsciously avoided. He laughed at himself and retracted his hand. ‘Are you afraid of me?’

‘No...’ Mo wanted to explain, but she didn’t know how to explain, ‘I...’

‘Rest assured, I had acted like a werewolf only one time in my life, which was met by you. Probably the geomantic omen of your ancestral grave was not good.’ Fu Pei said with a bitter smile.

But Mo couldn't smile. After thinking about it carefully, she said, ‘That... will you...’

‘Will I stop pestering you?’ Fu Pei kindly helped her continue, ‘I don't know, how long had you liked me? Then the same time I’ve spent liking you. Although I was not so dedicated as you did, but I like you anyway. It’s hard to put down the love which has existed for a long time. You know better than I do, otherwise you wouldn’t have entangled with me for so many years.

Mo wanted to retort that who had entangled with you, but in the end she couldn't say such words against her will and had to listen in silence. Fu Pei suddenly became a sad young man, sighing endlessly, ‘So, I don't know when I can treat you with pure friendship, maybe tomorrow, maybe for a long time. If you regret it, let me know that, maybe I would still be waiting for you.’

‘Fu Pei...’ Mo tried to say something, but was interrupted by Fu Pei, ‘Now you don't have to say anything, let me be cheap once as well.’ And you can rest assured that I will not bother you with this matter any more. I am now a great supporting role in the novel, looking at your happiness. I feel myself great when I talk about it.’

Mo followed his order that she didn’t have to say anything and looked at him quietly. He was a little embarrassed and pushed her to say, ‘At least, praised me as a rare man in the world who is infatuated with love.’

Mo felt as if he had grown up suddenly. She was a little relieved, ‘You are the rare man in the world who is infatuated with love.’

Fu Pei muttered: ‘Forget it, no sincerity, you just go up, let Gu Weiyi come downstairs, I have something to say with him.’

Mo looked at him vigilantly, ‘What are you going to do?’

Fu Pei hummed, ‘Need you to protect him like this? It's between him and me, and it’s none of your business.’

She was a little embarrassed by the teasing and said with a smile, ‘Then I'll go up.’

Turning away, she did not see the pain on his face, and he did not see the relief on her face either.

When Mo entered the door, she found Gu Weiyi sitting on the sofa with a dignified expression. It seemed that he had known about Fu Pei's arrival. Maybe it was he who had brought him here. Otherwise, how could Fu Pei know they lived here?

Mo threw her bag on the sofa, sat down heavily, and crossed her hands on her chest without speaking.

Gu Weiyi glanced at her, finally he lost his composure and asked, ‘Don't you think you should say something?’

Mo put her legs on the sofa and said, ‘What do you mean?’

He patted her on the leg and said, ‘Put down your feet. What did Fu Pei say to you?’

Mo shrugged her shoulders. ‘He said he liked me.’

Gu Weiyi sat up straight and asked, ‘What did you say then?’

Mo refrained from laughing. ‘Nothing.’

Gu Weiyi was anxious and raised his voice. ‘What did you mean by saying that?’

Mo said solemnly, ‘Just nothing, oh, yes, he's downstairs, asked you to go down to talk with him.’

Gu Weiyi glared at her, which meant that he would get even with her later, got up to change her shoes and went downstairs.

Gu Weiyi left for more than two hours. The more Mo waited, the more hesitant she became. No one answered the phone call. Should they fight? Or was it that as the negotiation progressed, the two men began falling in love with each other? Had she never have a wrong guess about his sexual orientation before? She was just a cover for him to face the common views? Ah - it's crazy to think about it again.

In order to avoid stepping on the pure land of the psychiatric hospital, Mo decided to take a bath. She washed clothes after the bath, and finally heard the sound of opening the door when she hanged the clothes. She threw down the clothes hanger and ran past. It was shocking at first sight. Gu Weiyi’s small face, which was handsome turned black and blue.

Gu Weiyi saw her rushing over and said, ‘Don't come here.’

‘Why?’ Mo stopped confusedly.

‘I have blood on me. Aren't you fainting?’

As soon as Mo heard it, she raised her feet and rushed up. Gu Weiyi ran reflectively and shouted, ‘What are you coming? I'm fine.’

Mo said while chasing him, ‘Well, I won’t faint in other people's blood.’

Gu Weiyi stopped, and asked strangely, ‘Why did you lie to me before?’

Mo sulked, ‘Who cheated you? I only fainted my own blood, not others.’

Gu Weiyi listened and felt strange, ‘Your dizziness is selfish, ha?’

Mo didn’t catch up, took him to the sofa and sat down, looked at his injury carefully. His forehead was broken, his left eye was swollen, his right cheek was blue, and his mouth was broken. Fu Pei had been so cruel!

Mo brought in the medicine box and applied the medicine to his face vigorously. Gu Weiyi put his head aside and let her rub it round and flat without expression. Her hands grew stronger and stronger, especially as she rubbed the bruise on his cheeks, but his face remained unchanged. Finally, Mo’s heart softened, and lightened her hand automatically, complaining, ‘How old are you? Couldn’t you solve the matter by speaking?’

Gu Weiyi kept silent, too lazy to explain to her the similarities and differences between men's fists and love with guns and power. But the more silent he was, the more energetic Mo became. She said, ‘It's my fault that Fu Pei and you have made such a fuss.

He nodded with a consensus while Mo pushed his head: ‘ Wanna die?’

Gu Weiyi just wanted to grin, but he pulled the injured corners of his mouth and couldn't help hissing back his smile.

Mo felt very distressed and said guilty, ‘It's not worth it to make such a fuss.’

Gu Weiyi’s hand stretched out and patted her hand which was on his shoulder soothingly. ‘First, I have lost my revenge with Fu Pei. Second, I have the final say whether it worth it or not, I think it's worth it.’

Mo bit her lower lip, in order to suppress the upward corner of the mouth.
