Chapter 32

Gu Weiyi's life had been tough in last week. Situ Mo was often inexplicably depressed and looked for trouble everywhere. Disliked him for not turning off the toilet light. Disliked his tea cup for leaving marks on the table. Disliked him for not drying the dishes after washing... Gu Weiyi was serious with her at first. He did turn off the toilet light, and the person who did not turn off the light was she. It was clear that the marks left on the table did not match the diameter of his cup. He had always dried the dishes after washing… Later, he found that Situ Mo was expressing her reluctance of saying goodbye. Although the way of expression was somewhat different, he didn't break her mind, and was happy to quarrel with her every day.

Mo didn’t know what had happened. Recently, as long as she saw Gu Weiyi's face, she got inexplicably impatient. Looking at his face is like watching the countdown of the college entrance examination, making her nervous and sad day by day. However, Gu Weiyi, like the dead wood, still quarreled with her every day. He was really out of his mind!

Mo hadn’t seen Gu Weiyi's ghost since after work. She watched the wall clock in the living room the 101st time, it was 21:21. He called her at 18:30 and said that some of the classmates who often did experiments together with him wanted to farewell to him, so he wouldn’t go home for dinner. At 20:20, he called again and said that he went to KTV with his classmates. Before Mo could tell him to go home earlier, the phone hung up. She looked at the clock again, stared at her phone and hesitated for ten seconds, decided that she would never call him even she died.

It was unknow what time it was. The doorbell kept ringing. Mo got up from bed, she was not asleep, but did not want to let Gu Weiyi know that she was waiting. With slippers and yawns, she finally opened the door with a bad face.

Mo got stunned when she saw Lu Jianshi, and so did Lu Jianshi. The boy behind Lu Jianshi were also stunned. So except Gu Weiyi, who was obviously drunk and leaning against the wall, everyone was stunned for a while.

Lu Jianshi first came back to her and said, ‘Well, brother is drunk. We send him back.’

Mo gave a huh and let them in. Gu Weiyi seemed conscious, broke away from the boy who was supporting him and smiled at Mo, ‘Please don't scold me.’

Mo was very dissatisfied with his description of her as a shrewish woman. As soon as she tried to retort, he turned to her. She helped him in a hurry, ‘Stand up or I’ll throw you out, Gu Weiyi.’

Lu Jianshi came up to help, ‘Let me do it.’

Gu Weiyi, who had the habit of physical contact cleanliness, and was drunk, flung Lu Jianshi aside who was trying to help him.

Lu Jianshi was awkward and got rigid in place, and Mo was embarrassed as well. She fabricated an explanation, ‘He doesn't like to be touched when he is drunk.’

Lu Jianshi looked at Gu Weiyi, who was lying on Mo. Doesn’t like to be touched by others? It wasn't convincing, but she just nodded and stood aside. That boy came up to help Gu Weiyi and was waved away by him as well. Fine, at least it helped to make Mo’s lie plausible.

Mo had no choice but to drag him to the room by herself, and lessened him while walking, ‘Gu Weiyi, walk well, how did you come back just now!’

Gu Weiyi's head was buried in her neck, he complained even he was drunk, ‘You've been very fierce lately.’

Mo was too lazy to argue with him. She just took him as a dead pig who could do nothing but cry. Having thrown him in his bed, she turned around to entertain the guests, ‘Uh, what would you like to drink?’

Lu Jianshi shook her head. ‘No, it's late. We have to go back.’

Mo looked at the wall clock. It's over 23 o'clock, so she didn’t detain them and just sent them off gratefully.

Mo sat on the sofa in the living room, listening to Gu Weiyi, who was moaning intermittently in the room, saying hot, thirsty and vomiting from time to time. She was too lazy to pay attention to him, and her mind was full of the eyes of Lu Jianshi before she left. Recently, she had become fascinated with Lietome, an American TV show that was popular. It was about how to infer people's emotions through their subconscious actions and expressions. When Lu Jianshi walked out of the door, she looked back at her quickly with complicated eyes. Mo was very familiar with such eyes. When Fu Pei came to school to play with her before, Wang Shan often had such eyes. Looking back on Lu Jianshi's attitude when she went to the laboratory before, although she had thought that this person was tepid at that time, she now felt that it was a strong hostility. Mo was so chagrined that she shouldn’t have invited her to eat pickle fish. Anything of mine was eaten off must be disgorged out for me!

‘Situ Mo...’ Gu Weiyi was crying again.

Mo turned a white eye, got up, poured a glass of water from the kitchen, carried the water into Gu Weiyi's room. He leaned against the bed, with his eyes half open, and frowned, ‘Where did you go, I want to drink water.’

Mo handed him the water, being sulky, ‘I'm not your servant.’

Gu Weiyi was gulping down water while Mo fished for information, ‘Gu Weiyi, does that Lu Jianshi has interest in you?’

After drinking water, he stuffed the glass into Situ Mo’s hand and fell down to sleep.

Mo pushed him twice, ‘Hey, don't pretend to be dead. Does Lu Jianshi like you?’

He turned over impatiently, ‘I don't know. I have a headache. Don't bother me.’

Mo ignored his headache, shook him vigorously, ‘Get up and tell me, get up!’

He moaned, ‘I don't know. I only know you like me.’

She gave him a hard pat on the back with a grin, ‘You’re smug, get up to take a bath. Are you going to sleep with wine fumes?’

Gu Weiyi slept still, so Mo had to go to the bathroom and twist a wet towel to help him wipe his face, and then went back to sleep in her room.

Lying in bed, she couldn’t fall asleep. Because of Gu Weiyi’s handsome look and abnormal IQ, it is reasonable to have peach blossom. She had already get prepared for it. There was a sister Li, so she thought she had been generous to such phenomenon. But Lu Jianshi was hard to deal with. First of all, her behavior was very concealed, it was really that the enemy was in the dark and it was not advisable to act rashly. Second, she and Gu Weiyi had the same major, the so-called ‘As soon as you say that, I understand’, which should be a deep ideological realm, one that Mo would never live up to. Third, she and Gu Weiyi did experiments together every day, love will come in time, and soon they won’t get tired of seeing each other...

The more Mo thought about it, the more she felt there existed something wrong. She just bounced out of bed, knocked on the door of Gu Weiyi’s room, but received no response. She guessed that he must have slept dead, so she turned on the door, went in, turned on the light, but found no one in the bed.

Mo approached the bed and lifted the quilt. She looked around and even down at the bottom of the bed.

‘Hey, Situ Mo?’ A confusing voice came from the top of her head, and she turned around at the ground. Gu Weiyi was wearing his nightgown, wiping his hair, with his face full of puzzle, ‘What are you looking for on the ground?’

Mo stood up with her hands on the edge of the bed, ‘I thought you were drunk and dropped under the bed.’

Gu Weiyi sat down at the edge of the bed with an ‘oh’, ‘You come to my room at one o'clock in the middle of the night to see if I have fallen out of bed?’

Mo sat down beside the bed, ‘Weren’t you drunk? Where did you go?

He was still wiping his hair and answered her casually, ‘Took a bath, I'll wake up in an hour after drunk.’

Mo thought that there were something wrong, she squinted and asked him, ‘You'll wake up in an hour? Last time, it took me more than two hours to drag you home, did you play tricks on me?

Gu Weiyi covered his face with a towel and lay down on the bed, ‘I drank too much last time. What on earth are you doing in my room?’

Mo took the towel from his face and said, ‘You are obviously more drunk this time. I came to ask you if Lu Jianshi likes you?

He looked slightly sideways at her, and laughed a little unkindly, ‘Are you jealous again?’

She looked down at him and said, ‘You just show off. I warn you severely to stay away from her. Besides, you are not allowed to drink with other women in the future.’

Gu Weiyi put his hand around her waist and then pushed her down on the bed. Mo cried, her head knocked on the bed. Fortunately, it was a cushion.

He took her waist in one hand, raised his head in the other and looked sideways at her, ‘Today is the celebration of the experiment and a farewell dinner for me by the way.’

Mo also looked sideways at him, ‘I'm very stingy, if I find you have romantic involvement with other girls, you should tighten your skin.’

Gu Weiyi held her close to his chest and said, ‘It's good to be stingy. I'm not generous either.’

Ten minutes...

‘Well, that... Gu Weiyi…It's time to let go. I'm going back to bed.’ Mo looked up to look at Gu Weiyi, who closed his eyes and breathed evenly and smoothly.

Mo pushed him, ‘Hey, let go first.’

Gu Weiyi opened his eyes slightly, and then took her in a more comfortable position and patted her head, ‘Good girl, sleep.’

Mo struggled in vain for two times. So she found a comfortable position in his arms, closed her eyes and waited for sleepiness to come.

In the morning, Gu Weiyi opened his eyes and found that Situ Mo had already woken up. She smiled and raised her hands. In the morning sunshine, she was very leisurely, cutting her nails.

Gu Weiyi took her hand down and said, ‘Situ Mo, you cut your nails on my bed!’

Mo smiled and said, ‘Honey, you are awake?’

He refused her sugar-coated bullet, ‘Where did you throw the cut nails?’

Mo’s finger pointed to the bedside cabinet. Gu Weiyi Looked back, there's a pinch of nail dust on it. But said, ‘You'll be responsible for clearing them later.’

She shrugged noncommittally, ‘We're going to shoot an advertisement in Jinhua Square at nine o'clock. Would you like to come?’

‘When will you finish?’

‘It's supposed to be there all day.’

‘Then I'll go to have lunch with you.’

‘Okay.’

...

‘Situ Mo?’

‘Yes?’

‘What time is it?’

‘More than seven.’

Gu Weiyi got up and kissed Situ Mo’s forehead, ‘You can sleep a little longer, I'll buy breakfast.’

Mo blinked her eyes and said, ‘Oh, good.’

‘Sleep, stop cutting your nails.’

‘Okay.’

Gu Weiyi patted her head satisfactorily, drew two towels from the tissue box, wrapped the nail scraps and took them out.

The door was gently closed, and Mo closed her eyes with a smile: I want to marry you, Gu Weiyi.
