Chapter 39

Gu Weiyi finished a hot glue test at 3 o'clock last night and got a rest this morning. But he was woken up by the sound from Alex's room very early. Alex was really energetic. He was not afraid of kidney loss.

Lying awake in bed, Gu Weiyi tried to call Situ Mo. He pressed two numbers but remembered that she was there in the early morning, so he put down his phone. Picking up the book of ‘Semiconductor Material’ by the bedside to read. The book was brought from China. Some of the professional English works were hard for him to read, so he just read the translation first and then the original.

He was leaning against the bed, when he frowned and pinched a long, thin, little brown, black hair. He could not help laughing, Situ Mo.

He didn’t remember which night it was when he was reading on the sofa. She was sitting on the sofa reading a book with him. She watched as she lay down with her feet dangling on his thighs. He patted her twice, she turned her head with her face puckered and put her head on his thighs instead. Later, when he got up and poured tea, he found that she had fallen asleep. He lifted her head gently, put Semiconductor Material under her head, poured a cup of tea back and gently moved her head back to his thighs. This hair should have been clipped in at that time.

He shook his head and put it back in the book. He still remembered the mood when he carefully lifted her head up. It was as soft as a soaked tea leaf, stretching in the warm water. Looking back on the warmth of his heart, he suddenly pulled out one of his hair, pinched the hair of Situ Mo’s, tied the two hairs together, and then clipped them back into the book. It wasn't until he put down the book, got up, brushed his teeth and washed his face, and shaved in front of the mirror that he suddenly realized how childish he was just now. He smiled bitterly in front of the mirror, bind up the hairs, so shameless.

Mo had gone on smoothly recently. First, the advertisement project she cooperated with brother Tie was highly praised by customers. Then, the company decided to let her and the sister represent the company in a new competition for advertising creativity. Although it was not a great achievement, as a new person out of society, she was satisfied enough to ascend to heaven. Several times she picked up the phone and tried to share her joy with Gu Weiyi, but finally she put it down. Just endure it, after finishing the competition, she could ask for leave to go to the United States to find him, to give him an invincible surprise.

For this competition, Mo had spent all her spare time in bookstores and on the internet. She read all the famous and unknown advertisements at home and abroad. Sometimes she watched and fell asleep in front of the computer. When she woke up, she would wash her face and looked at it again, it felt like she had returned to her senior year. She had a firm goal and moved step by step towards her dream. A hard day. Tired, but full. After a week of unremitting efforts, she managed to put the whole advertising plan together, and then came the question of how to make an advertisement. She had the audacity to ask Lin Zhicun to be her hero. Because the company did not allocate her much money, she could just pay a pitiful amount of advertising fees. She didn't expect him to agree so quickly, and she didn't know as such a busy man, how could he spare half a week to shoot her advertisements. She would always be very grateful to him. Not everybody could be so lucky as her to have met such a good person.

Her advertisement belonged to the nature of public welfare. It was related to college students' supporting to teach in remote areas. In the story, Lin Zhicun was a music student. After breaking up with his girlfriend, he went to teach in mountain areas in a fit of pique. Later, his girlfriend came to ask him to leave. After some struggle, he finally chose to stay. The final scene of the advertisement was his fingers dancing on the keyboard of the organ in the sunshine. A group of children followed him gently humming ‘Tomorrow will be better’. When she took an eye drops advertisement for a computer hacker, she had found out that he had beautiful hands. The story was quite emotional. At first, Mo was afraid to show affectation. But on second thought, every year, volunteers would come to remote areas to teach. This sentiment was not shared by everyone. Since they were so great, of course, they should be praised, so Mo dared to incite feelings.

As for the heroine, Mo asked Meng Lu for help for a long time, and repeatedly assured her that she would not photograph her clear face.

After a period of unrest, the advertisement finally settled down. In order to thank Lin Zhicun and Meng Lu, she took part of the fare to the United States and invited them to have a good meal. Lin Zhicun and Meng Lu got along well for a few days. In addition to hiding from reporters at the beginning, everyone enjoyed a meal and then returned.

Two days later, Mo gave the advertisement to manager Sun and embarked on a plane to the United States. She had already secretly contacted Gu Weiyi's roommate Alex and asked for their detailed address. The rest was surprise.

Mo had been sleeping since she got on the plane. She had a flight in Hong Kong in the middle. After a little excitement, she got on the plane and slept again. Although she was always very excited in the bottom of her heart, she was so tired that she couldn't help but keep her eyelids covered. After landing, she was woken up by the stewardess and went off the plane in a muddle. She corrected the time at the airport. By the time she was downstairs in Gu Weiyi’s apartment, it was more than eight o'clock in the evening. She took out the mirror at the door, arranged her hair with the street lamp, pulled her clothes, reached out and knocked at the door.

Two seconds later, the smile froze on her face. Who said it? Surprise was the source of all tragedies.

The door was opened by a foreign woman with blonde hair and blue eyes and only a bath towel. Such a woman was a rare thing.

Mo was angry at first, it was not until two seconds later, she remembered that Gu Weiyi had a foreign version roommate of Fu Pei, Alex, and was relieved. It was just that the rare thing was staring at her and talking a lot of English. She failed to understand.

So she ignored Gu Weiyi and said, ‘I'm looking for Gu Weiyi.’

The rare thing blinked her big eyes doubtfully, ‘Who?’

Only then did Mo realize that she didn't know Gu Weiyi’s English name, so she had to say, ‘Alex.’

The rare thing looked up and down at her with a little hostility before she shouted, ‘Alex.’

It was another blonde, blue-eyed person. Even if Chinese and Western aesthetics are different, she was sure that he was handsome, he frowned and looked at her for a while, then said: ‘Do I know you?’

Mo opened her mouth several times and tried to tell him something with her eyes but gave up because she couldn't organize a smooth word.

Alex was a gentleman. He leaned over to sign her in. Then they sat on the sofa and stared at each other. The foreigner looked at Mo and her luggage carefully. After a while, he suddenly showed an enlightened expression, ‘Oh, I know you!’ You are Gu's girlfriend!’

Mo breathed a sigh of relief and laughed foolishly, ‘Yes! uh... Where is he?’

Alex spoke a lot of English, Mo finally understood that he was not there, and she also understood the library.

Perhaps it was understanding Alex's words that strengthened Mo’s courage, and she began to chat with Alex in English, ‘How do you know... e... e... I Gu Weiyi’s girlfriend?’

Alex explained with a smile, ‘I've seen your photo before.’

As Mo was about to ask, the rare thing came out of the room dressed and sat down between them, looking at each other covetously.

Mo smiled at her somewhat awkwardly, indicating that she had no intention of robbing a man with her.

Alex hugged the rare thing and kissed her fiercely, ‘Honey, she's my roommate's girlfriend.’

Mo was embarrassed and turned away her eyes, thinking that the man was so open as to let her watch them kissing.

Alex let go of the rare thing and asked Mo, ‘Do you want me to call him?’

Mo waved: ‘No. No. Surprise.’

‘Ok, I see.’ He stood up, dragged Mo’s luggage to a room, and Mo followed.

Gu Weiyi’s room was similar to that at home, a computer, a bed and a pile of books. When Alex took her into the room, he said mysteriously, ‘Maybe you wanna check his computer.’ Then he closed the door and went out.

When Mo’s curiosity was aroused, she really turned on Gu Weiyi’s computer. After the familiar music, she found that the wallpaper was her photo. She sat on the grass at sunset and kneaded her feet. A very sensible picture, making her somewhat elegant. She recalled that it was probably the photo taken by Fu Pei when he graduated. Didn't Fu Pei send all the photos to her at that time? Why had she never seen this one before?

Surprise, because there are too many variables, it was really a difficult thing to implement. Mo waited in Gu Weiyi’s room for more than an hour. The harder she waited, the more tired she became. Eventually, she couldn't resist the call of Duke Zhou. She opened the quilt and lay down to sleep. Before going to bed, she was still wondering if Gu Weiyi, a clean freak knew that she would lie down in his bed without washing up after getting off the plane, would he got angry to die?
